Tom Burgis is an award-winning investigative journalist who has written extensively about the illegal wildlife trade. He is the author of the book The Looting Machine, which was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize. Burgis has worked for The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Sunday Times. He is currently a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.
