Patrick's Story

Patrick was born in 1987 in Kigali, Rwanda. He was the youngest of four children. His parents were farmers and they lived a simple life.

In 1994, the Rwandan genocide began. Patrick's family was targeted because they were Tutsi. They were forced to flee their home and hide in the bush for months.

Patrick and his family witnessed unspeakable horrors during the genocide. They saw people being killed in the streets. They saw their friends and neighbors being murdered. They were constantly afraid for their own lives.

But Patrick and his family never gave up hope. They knew that they had to survive. They clung to each other and supported each other through the darkest of times.

Eventually, Patrick and his family made it to safety. They were taken to a refugee camp in Tanzania. They lived in the camp for several years before they were able to return to Rwanda.

Patrick returned to Rwanda in 1999. He was determined to rebuild his life and to help his country heal from the genocide.

Patrick went on to become a successful student. He graduated from high school and then went on to college. He now works as a businessman and is married with children.

Patrick's story is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit. It is a story of hope and healing. It is a story that will inspire you to never give up, no matter what challenges you face.

Rwanda Today

Rwanda has come a long way since the genocide. The country is now peaceful and stable. The economy is growing and the people are rebuilding their lives.

However, the scars of the genocide still remain. Many people lost loved ones during the genocide. Many people were traumatized by what they witnessed.

Rwanda is working to heal from the genocide. The government has created a number of programs to help survivors of the genocide. The country is also working to promote reconciliation and forgiveness.

Rwanda is a country of hope and resilience. The people of Rwanda have shown the world that it is possible to overcome even the darkest of tragedies.
